BULAC Wine Tasting: Spain vs. South America
Led by Brian Robinson
Proprietor - Gnarly Vines Wine & Spirits
Spain and South America play an incredibly significant role in the global wine scene. Yet as intertwined as their histories are, their wines are considerably different – just like their futbol teams! Discover for yourself the similarities and differences as Brian leads you through a blind tasting of six pairs, each including a Spanish wine versus a South American Wine. The pairings will square off wines from Rias Baixas, Rioja/Ribera del Duero, Navarra, Catalonia, and Priorat against those of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
At the end of the tasting, we’ll tally the votes and see who wins – New World or Old?
About Brian:
Gnarly Vines Wine & Spirits, an exciting and eclectic wine shop in Fort Greene, Brooklyn is the culmination of Brian’s life-long passion for wine that began when he was a fifteen year old exchange student in a suburb of Paris. After many years of studying, collecting and most importantly drinking wine, he turned his passion into his profession on Bastille Day 1997 when he became the Director of the Wine Auction Department at Phillips Auctioneers. He has also served as the lead wine specialist for Christies and as the East Coast Director for Winebid.com.
